TALES FROM GAGINI – EPISODE 2: the power of details

Elements that tell a story

At Gagini Restaurant, every detail tells a story. Not just the dishes, not just the art on the walls.
Even the mise en place is a language: a collection of symbols that speaks of our identity, our connection to Sicily, and the history that surrounds us.

Sea, Earth, Marble

At the center of each table, three seemingly simple yet deeply meaningful elements.
A wooden square, a blue ceramic square, and a white ceramic square. On each one, small jars filled with essence: on the wood, ancient Sicilian wheat; on the blue ceramic, coarse salt; on the white ceramic, flour.

Sea, Earth, Marble

Colors and elements merge to express the essence of Gagini.

  • The blue ceramic holds the coarse salt. It evokes the sea, the water, and life.

  • The white ceramic, bright and pure, holds the flour. A refined reference to Gagini’s marble, the sculptor who, within these walls, shaped art from nothing.

  • The wood cradles the wheat. It represents genesis, the deep roots that sink into the earth, the memory.

Three symbols that, even before tasting a dish, already tell you our story: the story of Palermo, of an art studio transformed into a workshop of taste.

The mise en place at Gagini is an invitation to connect with roots, to touch the essence of who we are.
